Apple is once again offering free summer camps for kids 8-12 at its retail stores. The camps will focus on filmmaking with iMovie. The camps run for three days, 90 minutes per day, and will offer introductions to movie making basics, GarageBand on the iPad, and iMovie on the Mac. A film festival will be held on the third day for family and friends.

At Apple Camp, kids ages 8-12 learn how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on an iPad, and put it all together in iMovie on a Mac. This free workshop, held at Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival. Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so sign up now for a super-creative adventure.
Apple will also provide an optional, one-hour Parents Workshop on the first day to teach parents how to set up parental controls on Apple devices.
The first round of camps will take place in mid-July, and will run through early-August. Be sure to check the site for availability in nearby stores, as these things have a tendency to fill up quickly.
Parents can register for the camps on Apple’s website for U.S. and Canadian stores, and parents in Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, can register to be notified when registration begins for their countries.
