Apple’s iPad still accounts for a huge 89.28% of tablet e-commerce website traffic, this despite the growing competition from other tablets. The Apple device also grabs more money on a per-user basis than any other tablet.

The figures come from Monetate’s latest Ecommerce Quarterly report issued on Wednesday and provided to AppleInsider. The data culled from the first quarter of calendar 2013 shows that Apple’s iPad still accounts for nearly 9 out of every 10 tablets that browse e-commerce websites.

Apple’s share is down slightly from a year ago, when it held 91.68% of the e-commerce traffic. The share for Android tablets almost doubled, growing from 4.75% to 8.20% year-over-year.

In a surprising note, Amazon’s Kindle Fire lost ground, falling from a 3.58% share down to 2.51%.

When we look at how much money tablet users spend, the iPad also takes the crown, with an average order value of $99.05. Andriod tablets took second with $95.48, with the Kindle Fire taking third place with $83.58.
