Apple has officially announced Steve Jobs will be the Keynote Speaker for WWDC 2011 next week to unveil the much anticipated iOS 5 software release as well as the iCloud online storage offering and OS X Lion.
Steve Jobs will take the stage at 10:00 Pacific time next Monday, June 6 to kick off the Worldwide Developers Conference. It’s highly unusual for Apple to pre-announce such major software releases but none of these products come as a big surprise.
Steve Jobs has been on an extended medical leave of absence from his day-to-day role as CEO, but iOS 5, Lion, and iCloud are all very important to Apple’s strategy so it is fitting Jobs will be the first to announce them.
Stay tuned to MacTrast next week for all the news from WWDC.
