Among the many updates delivered in Apple’s recent quarterly conference call, the company noted that iCloud is now up to an impressive 300 million users – that’s a 20% increase from the 250 million reported last quarter, and a 200% increase from the 100 million users reported one year ago.
To put that figure in perspective, that means that iCloud is now in use on around 75% of the 500M or so iOS devices currently in circulation. While Apple’s iCloud platform is certainly not without issues, it appears to nevertheless be gaining traction among Apple’s users – and at a much greater rate than its predecessor, MobileMe.
Despite it’s issues, gaining 300 million users in just 18 months is a pretty impressive achievement!
