We reported earlier this week that T-Mobile was set to push out a carrier update to all the unlocked GSM iPhone 5 devices on their network. They’ve pulled the trigger today, and the update will enable quite a few features, not the least of which is LTE support.
The document notes that the update brings support for Visual Voicemail, the “4G” network indicator on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network, Personal Hotspot settings, MMS settings, HD Voice, LTE, and more.
The update also includes battery life enhancements due to the improved network optimization.
Pre-Orders for the official T-Mobile iPhone 5 began this morning. The official release date for the phone on the magenta network is April 12th.
