We’ve seen loads of add ons for the iPhone in the past which allows you to add different lenses, or even 360 cameras, but Podcaster for the iPad is different. Once you place your iPad in the case, you can attach pretty much any camera accessory in the world using the standard screw threads, and there’s even room for lenses too with the Lenscaster.
It’s great as it allows you to use camera accessories you probably already have, and while it’s bulky to hold it does sit nicely on a tripod. But here comes the nasty part. Price.
It’s $149 for the Padcaster alone, and you can add another $40 for the Lenscaster, so it’s $189 if you want them both. It does seem pretty expensive, but with this you can transform your iPad into a piece of high end photography gear, so it’s not completely stupid.
One can also use it without the iPad and just as a frame to hold accessories if you already have a DSLR, so it does have more than one purpose. If you’re interested, you can order one here, even though stock is fairly short, so you’ll have to wait 2-4 weeks.
