The iPhone’s battery just doesn’t make it through an entire day of regular usage. So, you keep a charging cable handy in your briefcase, backpack or purse, only to have to dig like crazy to find it when you need it, and then you have to untangle the cable once you find it. Wouldn’t it be great to have a solution to this that you could keep in your wallet or a pocket in your purse? Meet the ChargeCard for iPhone.
Kickstarter, via Cult of Mac:
Our quest was simple: a charging cable for your iPhone portable enough for you to always have it on you. Being ultra-portable, however, wasn’t enough; it needed to fit into your life. So we designed ChargeCard in the shape of a business card, and at only three times the thickness of a credit card. With this form factor, the ChargeCard fits naturally into your wallet, purse or pocket. It’s there when you need it, and out of your way when you don’t.
The ChargeCard works with USB ports found on numerous devices. Just plug it into a handy laptop or desktop computer, a game console, USB equipped automobiles, (even electric keyboards or drum sets that have USB ports), and you’ll be charging your iPhone in seconds.
The ChargeCard is only 0.1″ thick (2.54mm), so it should fit into most wallets. The site says it can even be stored underneath many iPhone cases. The body is made from ABS plastic for durability, and the foldout USB arm is made of a flexible thermoplastic elastomer.
As of this writing, the project is not fully funded. With 37 days to go, the project has funded $38,231 toward its goal of $50,000. The funding should eventually be completed, but why not go on over to the website and check it out. If you like what you see, pledge towards the project. For a pledge of $20 or more, you’ll receive a ChargeCard in your choice of colors. Additional benefits are available for higher pledges.
