How to: Gift An Individual Item In iTunes
So you were browsing on the iTunes store and you came across a song for example that you would like to gift to someone.
All you need to do is click the arrow button next to the price which will present the following drop down menu:
When you select ‘Gift A Song’ as shown in this example the following screen will be presented:
Going from the top you can either send this gift via email or elect to print it out yourself.
Looking first at sending the gift via email and you will be required to enter your name along with the recipients name and email address. You will also need to verify the recipients email address in order to proceed. Enter a personal message and click continue.
Please note that if you are incredibly generous you can send this to more than one recipient by simply entering multiple email addresses and separating them with a comma.
Should you wish to hand or snail mail deliver the gift to someone then click on the option titled Print Gift Myself and the following form will be presented:
Simply enter your name, the recipients name, and a personal message and press continue and follow the prompts.
Both of these steps can be used for any content located on the iTunes Store.
Please note that you can not use the credit from a gift certificate to then in turn give another gift to someone else. You will need a credit card connected to your iTunes account in order to issue the gift.
You also, and this is vitally important, can only redeem the gift certificate in question from the iTunes store in which it was purchased in.
For example, if you were in Australia but you wanted to email or send the printed gift certificate to someone in the United States then you would need to have a registered United States iTunes account and gift the amount in question from there.
