Although The Daily, News Corp’s iPad-only news app, launched over a year ago, the iPhone has so far been left out of the picture. Until now, that is. The Daily released an updated version of the app this morning, adding iPhone support, as well as a 50% reduction in subscription rates!
The Daily defined the category of news apps on tablet devices by offering a custom digital newspaper experience with daily content, all designed from scratch and written by a dedicated team of journalists. Now iPhone users can take advantage – something which many should be excited for.
Subscriptions are priced at $1.99 per month or $19.99 per year, and users who have already subscribed through the iPad can use their subscription for the iPhone app as well. Oddly, the app isn’t universal – News Corp has opted to maintain separate versions of The Daily for the iPhone and iPad. The Daily for iPhone is a free download, and is available now from the App Store (free, App Store link).
