Ten One has Design has announced a new pressure-sensitive Bluetooth 4.0 stylus for the iPad 3. The new stylus is code named Blue Tiger, and is already being manufactured for release in the near future.
In a statement sent to use by a Ten One Design representative, founder Peter Skinner states:
This accessory will change the way people can interact with their iPads,” said Peter Skinner, Ten One Design, Founder. “For instance, when using Blue Tiger in a drawing application, the user can control stroke thickness, the color of which is displayed on the multi-colored LED button.
In addition to the iPad 3, the new stylus will also work with the iPhone, the iPad 2 and the original iPad. The device will be the first pressure-sensitive Bluetooth stylus for the iPad that I am aware of. The company is offering developers immediate access to an SDK to add support for the stylus to their apps.
The fact that the new product is being marketed towards the iPad 3 suggests that Apple’s next-gen tablet will feature Bluetooth 4.0 support. The iPhone 4S was the first smartphone to feature Bluetooth 4.0 support, and Apple has been adding support to their Macs since the release of the mid-2011 MacBook Air and iMac models were released last July.
