Hands-On With Survival Mode in Minecraft Pocket Edition for iOS (Video)

The new version is 0.2.0 alpha and it still retails for $6.99 over in the App Store.

The main new feature added in this update is survival mode. In this mode, the objective is obviously to survive from various animals and mobs. Another great addition is flying in creative mode, which is not seen in the video above. Mojang could not have made flying any easier; simply double tap. Day and night have also finally arrived along with tools for different purposes.

 Major version 0.2.0 (first survival update)
+ New mode! Choose between Survival and Creative mode when creating a map
+ New blocks; most notably doors, fences and fence gates
+ Added flying to Creative mode (double tap jump)
+ Added mobs; sheep and zombies being the first
+ Day and night in Survival mode, with monsters coming at night…

+ Tools for different purposes (digging, attacking.. shearing  )
