Now that Apple has announced the iPhone 4S launch in China (and 22 other countries) on January 13th, China Unicom is taking full advantage, reports Bloomberg. The carrier has announced a new promotion on their website to provide customers with a free iPhone 4S if they sign a multi-year contracts.
Customers will be able to get a free 16GB iPhone 4S if they sign a two-year contract, or a free 32GB 4S if they sign a three-year contract. The promotion will likely be extremely popular, and will probably lead to even longer lines than normal for an iPhone launch.
China Unicom is the second-largest wireless carrier in China, and is currently the only authorized iPhone carrier in the country, although other carriers, such as China Mobile and China Telecom, are rumored to be getting the iPhone in the near future.
