While Apple has recently launched their Ship to Store program in California and New York retail stores, a new report from 9to5Mac suggests that the company will launching the program worldwide on November 3rd, alongside a new self-checkout program allowing users to pay for certain Apple Retail Store purchases using the official Apple Store app.
The Ship to Store program allows users to purchase products from the Apple Online Store and have their orders delivered to a local Apple Retail Store for local pickup, and the new self-checkout program will allow users to pick up and pay for off-the-shelf items without having to interact with an employee.
The new “EasyPay” self-checkout has been criticized for apparently making it easier for people to steal items from Apple Retail Stores, with some sources now referring to the program as “EasyTheft.”
Apple is reportedly holding an overnight meeting tonight at their retail stores to talk specifics of the upcoming systems, and the new systems are expected to launch in all U.S. Apple Retail Stores this Thursday.
