Following Sony’s acquisition of the movie rights to Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography, a new report from LA Times suggests that Sony has approached Aaron Sorkin, the acclaimed screenwriter of “The Social Network” and “A Few Good Men,” to write the screenplay for the upcoming film.
Sony is moving forward with a Steve Jobs movie based on Isaacson’s book. And one of the writers being courted by producers to pen his story, according to a person who was briefed on the project but not authorized to speak about it publicly, is Aaron Sorkin, Hollywood’s chronicler-in-chief of the complicated visionary.
Sorkin is said to be considering the project, but no decisions have been made so far, and representatives for both Sony and Sorkin have declined to comment on the matter of Sorkin’s involvement in the film.
No timeline has been set for the movie yet, and decisions about casting have not yet occurred. While it remains to be seen who will play Steve Jobs in the upcoming film, Noah Wyle, who portrayed Jobs in the 1999 film “Pirates of Silicon Valley,” has stated that he wold be interested in the role.
