Apple TV+ has promoted two of its most popular series with somewhat unusual marketing stunts. The streaming service recently promoted the second season return of “Severance” and the season finale of “Silo.”
Severance
Apple TV+’s oddball hit drama, Severance, returns Friday, January 17, three years after the show first premiered. To celebrate the shows return, Apple surprised Grand Central Terminal in New York City customers with a pop-up promotion of the show.
Apple erected a glass cube that held workstations (including computers) identical to those used by “Lumon” employees in the show. Actors from the show (including actors Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, and Tramell Tillman), made appearances “working” as their “innie” show roles, sipping coffee, playing catch, doing yoga, flying paper airplanes, and other “work” activities.
Severance director Ben Stiller made an appearance at the site at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, and the performance continued for more than two and a half hours.
In “Severance,” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.

Severance will make its second season return to Apple TV+ on Friday, January 17.
Silo
Meanwhile, the Apple TV+ marketing team also promoted the upcoming season 2 finale episode of the popular Science fiction series.
An actor dressed in a post-apocalyptic “cleaning suit” sat courtside at an Dallas Mavericks basketball game.
The Mavericks’ X account posted a short video of the Silo character at courtside. The tweet was reposted by the official Apple TV account.

In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.
The sci-fi series is based on Hugh Howey’s best-selling book trilogy “Wool.” Both seasons of Silo are now available for streaming on Apple TV+.
