Apple to Make Donation Toward Los Angeles Wildfire Recovery Efforts

Apple has said it will be donating towards recovery efforts on the ground to aid Los Angeles, California citizens affected by the devastating wildfires in the area.

“The devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles is heartbreaking,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook, in a social media post on Wednesday. “Thank you to the incredible firefighters, first responders, and all those assisting for your heroic efforts. Apple will be donating to support the victims and recovery efforts on the ground.”

Apple has donated frequently towards recovery efforts following natural disasters around the world. In the past, Apple has donated to the American Red Cross for these purposes.

In September 2024, Cook announced Apple would be donating to relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Helene. In 2016, Apple partnered with the American Red Cross to help support relief efforts for those affected by widespread flooding in southern Louisiana. In January 2020, Apple again partnered with the Red Cross to accept donations to help with fire relief efforts in Australia.
