Department store chain Target is making your shopping run a bit easier, as it has announced that it has become the the first retailer to offer curbside pickup through CarPlay integration in its iPhone app, reports AppleInsider. The feature is available for both Drive Up and Pickup services.
Once customers make a Drive Up or Pickup order via the Target app and connected to CarPlay, the Target app will automatically display the Target store where the purchase was made on the vehicle’s CarPlay display.
Shoppers can then view order details, get directions to the store via Apple Maps, and notify the store once they have pulled into their Drive Up parking space.
“The introduction of the Drive Up feature in the Target app with Apple CarPlay is a win for our guests and a win for our team as we make it even easier to find a store and complete your Target run,” said Mark Schindele, chief stores officer at Target. “No matter how guests choose to shop with us — in store, online or using our same-day services — they can expect us to deliver innovative touches that make everyday moments even better.”
Target has recently added other features to its app, including the ability to begin returns and create Starbucks orders via the Target App.
Target says it will release a version of the app for Android Auto in the future.
