Production on display to be used for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will kick off in June, according to a tweet to subscribers from display analyst Ross Young. Young told his subscribers that display panel production will begin next month. The iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro are expected to account for most of the production during June.
Apple’s display providers will manufacture the displays and send them to the factories that will start the final assembly process for the iPhone 16 models.
Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max in September, which is the traditional iPhone debut month.
While the devices are rumored to be similar in looks to the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple is rumored to be increasing the size of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
The iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display (up from 6.1 inches) while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 6.9-inch display (up from 6.7 inches). Meanwhile, display sizes for the standard iPhone 16 models will not change, with the iPhone 16 display measuring in at 6.1 inches while the iPhone 16 Plus will have a 6.7-inch display.
The iPhone 16 lineup is also expected to sport a new “Capture” button for taking images and videos in landscape mode, faster processors, camera improvements, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, and faster 5G modems in some models.
