Apple has announced an expansion of its Self Service Repair program to 24 additional European countries, while also expanding to cover M2-powered Macs and the iPhone 15 lineup. Self Service Repair now supports 35 Apple products in 33 countries and 24 languages.
M2-powered Mac models now covered by the program includ the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 15-inch MacBook Air, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio.
Additionally, Apple Diagnostics for Self Service Repair is available today in the U.S., with availability in Europe to come next year. Intended for users with the knowledge and expertise to repair Apple devices, Apple Diagnostics troubleshooting sessions will give customers the same ability as Apple Authorized Service Providers and Independent Repair Providers to test devices for optimal part functionality and performance, as well as identify which parts may need repair.
Apple in April 2022 launched its Self Service Repair program for iPhones and Macs, providing repair kits, repair manuals, and components to customers. Apple also offers repair programs for independent repair shops, including the Apple Authorized Service Provider option and the Independent Repair Provider program.
To ensure a customer can safely perform a repair, it’s important they first review the Repair Manual. Then a customer will place an order for the Apple genuine parts and tools using the Apple Self Service Repair Online Store. Following the repair, customers who return their used parts for recycling will receive credit toward their purchase.
