Apple CEO Tim Cook took to the Chinese social media service Weibo to say that the company will be donating support to relief and recovery efforts following flooding in China’s Beijing within the Hebei province.
“Our hearts go out to those impacted by the terrible flooding in Beijing and the surrounding Hebei province,” wrote Cook. “Apple will be donating to relief efforts on the ground.”
Apple has donated to disaster relief and recovery efforts many times previously in Turkey, Pakistan, the US, and France’s Notre Dame.
As usual, Cook did not specify an amount that Apple would be donating, or whether the donation will be a straight financial donation or will also include support from local Apple staff or Apple services. Apple tends never to announce precisely what it has donated.
