Leaker ShrimpApplePro says the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra will be available in a black titanium case option, repeating earlier comments from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The Ultra will retain its current “Natural” titanium finish, says the leaker.
Gurman said Apple had tested the darker color for last year’s model but eventually decided against offering it. Gurman claimed the darker color option could still “theoretically” be available for this year’s model, thanks to the popularity of the current Ultra. Apple currently offers its Apple Watch Series 8 and SE models in several color options.
The original Apple Watch Ultra was released in 2022, and is a larger and more rugged version of the Apple Watch, and is intended for use by hikers, divers, users that engage in extreme sports, and other outdoor activities. The Ultra is priced at $799 in the United States.
The second-generation Apple Watch Ultra is expected to be announced in September alongside the Apple Watch Series 9, which ShrimpApplePro says will be available in pink.
