Apple could be planning to offer its upcoming second-generation Apple Watch Ultra in a new darker color option. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple tested the darker color for last year’s model but eventually decided against it.
Gurman claims Apple reportedly considered offering the premium wearable in a “dark titanium” color version, going so far as to test the color. However, at the end of the day, decided against the option because Apple designers didn’t like it.
However, Gurman claims the darker color option could still “theoretically” be available for this year’s model, thanks to the popularity of the current Ultra. Apple currently offers its Apple Watch Series 8 and SE models in several color options.
Apple is expected to announce its new Apple Watch models in September alongside the iPhone 15 lineup.
