Next iPad Mini Won’t Feature Mini-LED Display, Claims Display Analyst Young

Yesterday, we reported on a DigiTimes claim that the upcoming iPad mini would feature a mini-LED display, However, display analyst Ross Young says that is not true. Young says that although a new iPad mini is on track for a release later this year, it will not boast a mini-LED display.

Young has tweeted that he has “confirmed” with Radiant Opto-Electronics, which DigiTimes says would supply the displays to Apple, that the upcoming iPad mini will not boast a mini-LED display.

Apple’s next-generation iPad mini is widely expected to boast a significant redesign, which will include a larger 8.5-inch to 9-inch display with slimmer bezels, a Touch ID power button instead of a home button, a USB-C port instead of a Lightning connector, and more.

Apple’s iPad mini was last refreshed in March 2019 and features a 7.9-inch display, an A12 chip, and a Touch ID home button.
