Apple appears to have finally exhausted its stock of the original but discontinued HomePod in the United States. As of Monday morning, the full-sized HomePod shows “Sold Out” for both the black and white HomePods.
The black model had been sold out in the US for a while now, but the white model showed a being available “while stocks last.” Although the white HomePod listing still allows customers to check for the availability for store pickup, the speaker has been unavailable at most US retail locations since the beginning of this month.
The original HomePod is also listed as sold out in both colors in Canada. Apple last week had briefly listed both colors of the HomePod as being unavailable before re-stocking the white model. However, it appears those stocks have also exhausted.
Apple stopped production of the full-sized HomePod back in March, “HomePod mini has been a hit since its debut last fall, offering customers amazing sound, an intelligent assistant, and smart home control all for just $99,” said the company at the time. “We are focusing our efforts on HomePod mini. We are discontinuing the original HomePod, it will continue to be available while supplies last through the Apple Online Store, Apple Retail Stores, and Apple Authorized Resellers.”
Since that announcement, HomePod supplies slowly dwindled and it had already been removed for sale from the Apple online store in several countries, including France, Germany, China, Hong Kong, and India.
