Apple Music listeners are seeing a prominent teaser in the app indicating a major announcement. The teaser, under the “Coming Soon” headline, says “Get ready – music is about to change forever.” The accompanying “Tune-In Video” displays an animated Apple Music logo.
Rumors have long claimed the Apple has plans to launch a new “Hi-Fi” tier of Apple Music, playing lossless audio, as well as possibly a Spatial Audio experience on certain hardware. An announcement could come as soon as this Tuesday, May 18.
A seen in the MacRumors tweet below, the animated Apple Music logo in the teaser spins as it switches back and forth between showing the logo as white on black and black on white, perhaps suggesting the surround-sound nature of Spatial Audio.

Rumors of a Hi-Fi Apple Music tier first appeared two weeks ago and in the code of both the iOS 14.6 beta and the Apple Music for Android beta.
A report earlier this month said Apple is preparing to launch a new HiFi Apple Music tier in the “coming weeks” and that it will come alongside the release of the much-rumored third-generation AirPods.
