A new report says Apple’s new iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are equipped with 6GB of RAM, while the non-Pro models, the Phone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models have the same 4GB of RAM found in the iPhone 11 lineup.
The information is found in plist files in the Xcode 12.1 beta viewed by MacRumors. These plist files have been accurate in revealing the amount of RAM found inside of iPhones for several years.
Also, as mentioned by MacRumors, a seemingly legitimate Geekbench result for the iPhone 12 Pro also lists 6GB of RAM for that device.
The increased amount of RAM should combine with the faster A14 Bionic chip in the new iPhone 12 Pro models to result in significantly improve performance.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro pre-orders begin at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, and the first orders should begin arriving in customers’ hands on Friday, October 23. Customers who prefer an iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 12 mini will need to cool their heels until pre-order begins on November 6 with a launch to on November 13.
