Two long-term Apple operations vice presidents – Nick Forlenza and Duco Pasmooij – have left their posts. Both executives have already been replaced, and neither exit was a surprise.
Apple’s operations department is the division responsible for all facets of the company’s supply chain, which produces iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple products. Apple’s current CEO, Tim Cook, rose from the division.
Approximately a hundred vice presidents are responsible for the various aspects of Apple’s business, with about 20 of those VPs in operations. There is a succession plan for each vice president.
Bloomberg reports the Forlenza has retired. Sources inside Apple told AppleInsider that Forlenza’s exit was expected and planned for.
Pasmooij, who had been working in Apple’s augmented reality program for over a year, is still working for Apple but is reportedly “discussing an exit in the near future” according to Bloomberg.
Neither departure is said to be coronavirus related.
