Although it took longer than previous iOS 5 betas, iOS 5 beta 5 has now been jailbroken using redsn0w 0.9.8b5. It’s still a tethered jailbreak, and so far does not support the iPad 2, but progress is progress, right? The update was announced through @MuscleNerd’s Twitter account:
It should be noted that this jailbreak should not be attempted by everybody – it’s intended to be used by developers specifically to test their jailbroken iOS 5 apps. It’s less stable than consumer-level jailbreaks, and carries a substantial risk.
Jailbreak app developers can grab their own copy and beging testing their apps on the latest iOS 5 beta by heading on over to the iPhone Dev Team’s site.
