9to5Mac‘s Guilherme Rambo has shared more details about Apple’s upcoming macOS 10.15, set to be unveiled in June. Rambo says OS apps and features including Shortcuts, Screen Time, and iMessage effects will be coming to macOS.
Rambo says people familiar with the development of macOS 10.15 told him the update will include support for Siri Shortcuts, which debuted on iOS 12 back in September 2018. The feature allows users to create multi-step automations that can be set off with a spoken Siri command.
Shortcuts supports both first-party and third-party apps. The Mac will get “system-wide” support for Siri Shortcuts this fall, says the report.
Screen Time will also come to macOS. The feature allows users to track their device usage and report at the end of each week with statistics on what apps you use the most. Parents can also use the feature to limit the time their kids spend using certain apps. Users can also set time limits for their own app usage.
Last but not least, macOS will be getting the popular iMessage screen effects that have been available on iOS devices the past few years. Full screen effects include Echo, Balloons, Confetti, and Lasers.
Earlier this month, Rambo reported macOS 10.15 will include separate Music and Podcasts apps, as well as the promised TV app due to come to the Mac this fall.
