Mobile accessory maker Anker is now accepting pre-orders for the first MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning cable to be available from anyone other than Apple. The PowerLine II cable will be priced at $15.99 and shipping begins February 20.
Apple in late 2018 began allowing third-party companies to produce MFi-certified USB-C to Lightning cables. Since then, numerous companies have announced their versions of the cables are on the way. However, as noted by The Verge, it looks as if Anker’s will be the first cable to actually be available to the public.
The cables will be available in both three and six-foot lengths, and will eventually be available in different colors. However, pre-orders are only available for the white, three-foot long version of the White PowerLine II, which costs $15.99. (An equivalent model from Apple sells for $19.)
Al of the cables have a 12,000 bend lifespan and are covered by a lifetime warranty. All of the cables support Anker’s Power Delivery system, which allows faster charging speeds for the iPhone than allowed by stock charging systems.
