We recently reported on Apple announcement of a volume-licensing program for App Store apps. Apple has now formally launched the program, which is currently exclusive to the Unites States, and it is now live.
The volume purchasing program makes it easy for business to purchase and distribute applications while taking advantage of volume-based pricing. Further, the program can be used to have custom B2B apps built for your business, and any developer can choose to make their apps available to Volume License customers. Interested business can now enroll and get started in the program.
In order to get started, you’ll need the following things: Business contact information to verify your business, a Dun & Bradstreet (D-U-N-S) number, and a corporate credit card or purchasing card to use for purchases.
The Volume Purchase Program operates through the use of App Store redemption codes, which you receive when you make a volume purchase. You can then control who receives the app by choosing who to provide to codes to, or can use MDM solutions to manage the codes.
