We have received the latest Apple Campus 2 4K drone flyover video from Matthew Roberts, and the new footage shows a project that’s receiving its finishing touches before a scheduled opening later this year.
Although water accumulation from last month’s storms is still hanging around, workers have been able to make quite a bit of progress since the last time we took a peek at the construction project. Trees are being planted, and finishing touches are being made here and there.
Workers are continuing to add canopies designed to shield the main building’s windows from the sun, and the few remaining cranes are being put to work installing solar panels, which looks to be around 70% or so complete.
The outdoor center space of the main “spaceship” building is shaping up. The park-like area is intended to be a relaxing area for employees to both gather, both to relax and hold meetings, (weather permitting).
The area in front of the new research & development building is now paved, and installation of lighting poles around the new facility continues. Landscaping continues to progress around the new auditorium, where Apple will be making future announcements and such.
A tree-lined walkway is beginning to take shape on top of the main transit tunnel, and the fitness center is likewise receiving some tree-themed love.
Attendees of the Apple events will have a place to park, as the work on the parking garages looks to be basically complete, as construction workers are making use of the facilities to park their vehicles.
While 13,000 Apple employees were expected to begin moving into the “Campus 2” buildings at the end of January, (that’s tomorrow), it’s looking more and more like that will take place a month or two later.
