Apple on Thursday released a new Apple TV ad which highlights the set-top box’s built-in Siri voice command features and Siri Remote. The new one-minute ad spot, entitled “The Kiss,” stars Alison Brie and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
The ad begins with a kiss, as the two thespians are working to perfect an osculation scene they’re about to film. Ms. Brie feels the kiss isn’t working, and uses Siri to analyze a kissing scene from a video playing on a television connected to an Apple TV. She uses the “Siri, go back 7 seconds,” command to rewind the scene to analyze the kiss. She then asks, ” Is there tongue? Is there a little bit of tongue?” (Brie asks that of her human co-star, not Siri.)
In addition to the Siri video commands shown off in the ad, it also highlights Siri’s content search features, as Coster-Waldau uses Siri to play a song from Apple Music in an attempt to set a mood. He does not receive the hoped for reaction.
The ad ends with the tagline: “The Future of Television.” The ad is just the latest in a series of ads Apple has produced since the release of the new Apple TV in October 2015. Previous ads have focused on features such as the App Store, Apple music, and Siri Search, in addition to the amount of content available via the set-top streamer.
