When the new Apple TV launched on Friday, it quickly became apparent that app discovery in its new tvOS App Store was limited to the “Featured” section, and whatever apps users could find via the “Search” function. Apple made a move to address the issue on Monday, as it added a new “Top Charts” screen, listing the top paid apps, top free apps and top grossing apps.
As previously reported by MacRumors, games make up the majority of the top spots in the early going, while apps from content providers such as HBO, FOX and CBS are also popular. At press time, the top apps were as follows…

- The Nat Geo TV
- HBO NOW
- Crossy Road – Endless Arcade Hopper

- SHOWTIME
