If you’re an Office 2016 user who updated to OS X 10.11 El Capitan, and have been having all sorts of issues with Microsoft’s productivity suite ever since then, buck-up buttercup, because a fix is reportedly on the way!
The upcoming OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan release, which is expected to be released in the very near future, will include a compatibility update for Microsoft Office 2016 to fix ongoing crashing issues, MacRumors has learned.
Microsoft has said that it is aware of the problem, and is “actively working with Apple” on a fix. That indicates the problem might have been with El Capitan, and wasn’t something Microsoft could fix by its lonesome.
Microsoft released an update to Office 2016 earlier this week, but the update didn’t include any El Capitan-related fixes, just some new features and security fixes.
Apple’s most recent beta of OS X 10.1.1, released earlier this week to developers and public beta testers, asks testers to concentrate on Mail and Office 2016, indicating a fix is in the works.
