Apple on Thursday quietly pushed a new OS X 10.11 El Capitan Recovery Update for Mac, (version 2.0), that includes improvements to OS X Recovery.
The software update can be installed via the “Update” tab of the Mac App Store, and is a recommended update for all users that are running a beta of OS X 10.11 El Capitan on their machines.
OS X Recover allows Mac users to reinstall OS X, repair your disk, and restore from a Time Machine backup. The seventh OS X El Capitan developer beta was released to users on Wednesday.
El Capitan is intended as a refinement of OS X Yosemite, although it also offers new features, including Split View, a tweaked Mission Control, improved built-in apps, and other minor tweaks.
OS X 10.11 El Capitan is currently only available for download to registered developers and public beta testers. The new Mac operating system is scheduled for release to the public in the fall.
