Apple on Sunday enabled a feature in the iTunes Store to allow users to contribute to the American Red Cross to support relief efforts following the Nepal earthquake. A reported 2,400 people died in the earthquake and its aftermath.
The feature allows users to donate $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, or $200 to the relief efforts, using their credit or debit cards already on file in the iTunes Store. Apple will be acting as a payment facilitator, passing along 100 percent of the donations to the Red Cross.

Apple has conducted similar fund raising efforts via the iTunes Store in the past, including donation efforts for City of Hope, the 2013 typhoon in the Philippines, and the 2011 Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster.
