A new app allows you to unlock you Mac using your iPhone 5s, 6, or 6 Plus Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The new app, called FingerKey, allows you to login to your Mac without typing in your password each time.
The app takes advantage of Apple opening up the Touch ID sensor to third-party apps for logins after previously being reserved for unlocking the device itself and authenticating App Store and iTunes purchases.
FingerKey includes the ability to unlock multiple Macs from a distance, has 256-bit AES encryption, and an iOS 8 Notification Center widget for quick access.
The developer plans support for Windows and Linux, as well as a Pattern Unlock feature to allow logging in via touchscreen gestures.
FingerKey is available for the iPhone 5s, 6, and 6 Plus for $1.99 in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
