Amazon Gives Prime Members Unlimited Cloud Photo Storage

Amazon has made their $99-per-year Amazon Prime service just a little more valuable, as they’ve added unlimited cloud photo storage to Prime memberships. Photos will be stored uncompressed, in their full resolution, via an iOS app.

AppleInsider:

Amazon Prime Photos, using the online retailer’s Cloud Drive service, was officially launched on Tuesday. Cloud Drive offers secure online storage and automatic photo backup, allowing users to access their entire photo collection on any device.

Users will use the accompanying Amazon Cloud Drive Photos app on their iOS device to enable automatic photo backup. The app will also allow users to share photos via Facebook, email, and other apps.

Photos can also be viewed and added to via Android devices, Amazon’s own Fire tablets and phone, and Mac and Windows computers. The photos will be viewable via Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and select LG and Samsung smart TVs.

“This time of year in particular, families are capturing thousands of photos of holiday parties, family gatherings and opening presents,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President Amazon Prime. “With free unlimited photo storage, we’re providing one more reason for members to use Prime every day. Prime has always allowed members to conveniently save time and save money, and now with Prime Photos they can save memories too.”

If you’re not a Prime subscriber, there’s still good news for you, as the Cloud Drive Photos app also offers 5GB of free cloud storage space to non-subscribers.

The Amazon Cloud Drive Photos app is available FREE for the iPhone and iPad in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
