Apple has revealed today that the month of July was the best month ever for its App Store, as it generated more revenue and saw more customer purchases than it ever has before.
Apple’s record setting month was disclosed by the company to CNBC, on Tuesday, though specifics about July —including how much revenue the App Store earned or how many active customers it saw — were not disclosed.
Apple had disclosed during its conference call for its June quarterly earnings that its iTunes software and services part of the business were the fastest growing piece of the company for that quarter, ending in June. iTunes billings saw a 25% year-over-year increase, and Apple reported iTunes revenues of $4.5 billion, those numbers largely due to the App Store.
As of June, Apple reports developers have earned more than $20 billion total from the App Store.
