To be filed under “Fun Things to do on a Monday Coffee Break”: One of the most mysterious world landmarks can now be explored via 3D flyover in Apple’s Maps apps on both iOS and OS X. Stonehenge, the circular stone structure outside of London, England is now viewable via the app’s flyover feature.
AppAdvice notes that Stonehenge is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was likely built anywhere between 3000 BC and 2000 BC. Its exact origins remain a mystery.
Apple has been adding 3D coverage in its Maps app slowly but surely, adding support for Berkeley and the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay Area in California, as well as Perth in Australia, Saint-Tropez in France, and Cordoba in Spain, within the last few months.
To view Stonehenge, simply enter its name into the Maps app’s search box.
