If I’m honest with myself, I have to admit, the one thing missing from my life is a lamp that can charge my iPhone, allows me to listen to music, make a call, and set the mood while it’s controlled by my iphone. OK, not really. But, this week’s Kickstarter is still really cool. Enter Luma – a smart lamp for the 21st century.
The Luma SmartLamp comes with three main features: light, sound and power.
Power (USB Charger):
Luma SmartLamp is equipped with a 2.1A USB Charger. This means it can charge your iPad, and iPhone, or almost any other device that uses a USB charger.
Stunning Sound (Built-in Speaker / Mic):
The Luma SmartLamp also includes a high quality built-in bluetooth speaker and microphone. You can play all of your phone’s audio via Luma SmartLamp. You can even take calls via the lamp. It includes a wood base and acoustic outlets to enhance your listening experience. Link two of the Luma SmartLamp speakers together for a surround sound experience.
Light (Million Color LED):
Luma SmartLamp comes equipped with a bluetooth enabled million color LED which can be controlled by your phone. The light’s default color is a standard white with the brightness equivalent of a 60 watt incandescent lightbulb while only using 9 watts. These LED lights use 20x less energy than a traditional bulb and can last up to 20 years. You can use a standard white light, or enjoy a variety of colors that fit your activity or mood. You can also dim the lighting to the intensity level you desire. If you do not have your phone around, simply touch the wood base to turn on and off a white light.
The Luma SmartLamp can be controlled completely from your smartphone. A free app will be available for both iOS and Android devices. Using the app, you’ll be able to control various modes and features of the Luma.
Music Mode: When this mode is activated, your lights will dance to the music and change colors with the rhythm.
Notifications: When this mode is activated, your light will flash when you receive a notification. With the bluetooth speaker enabled you will also hear your notification through Luma SmartLamp’s speaker.
Proximity: When this mode is activated, your light will turn on when you are near it and it will automatically turn off when you leave it’s proximity.
Alarm: With our app you can run your alarm through Luma SmartLamp. This mode will allow you to turn on your alarm sounds slowly over a set period of time. You can also sync it with the light, allowing you to turn on the light slowly over time.
Lamp Grouping: You can connect multiple lamps into one grouping to allow control over an entire “room” or grouping.
Pledges for a Luma SmartLap begin at $89 for a short Luma, and $110 for a tall Luma.
