Google Will Shut Down “Bump” and “Flock” Apps on Jan. 31 – In a New Year’s Eve post on the Bump blog, the developer of that popular app has announced that it will be closing down both Bump, the app that allows devices to share contact information and other files by “bumping” the two together, and photo album aggregator Flock in order to concentrate its efforts on projects of its parent company, Google. Apple’s iPhone Was The Only Smartphone to See North American Web Usage Gains During The Holiday Season – While actual holiday sales numbers for tablets and smartphones won’t be in for awhile, we can tell from web usage numbers that while Amazon and Microsoft most likely saw good sales for their tablets, Apple’s iPhone was the only smartphone to see good holiday news. Smash-And-Grab Robbers Hit Dutch Apple Store Overnight, Make Their Getaway on Scooters – Apple’s recently opened Retail Store in the Dutch City of Haarlem was the site of a smash-and-grab last night.
