PayPal has made a major update to its iOS app to be released today, featuring a complete overhaul to an “iOS 7 look”, and a focus on making mobile payments to local merchants.
A new “Shop” tab has been added to allow users to discover nearby restaurants and shops that support payments via PayPal. In a location that offers payments through PayPal, users can check in to pay for merchandise, pay directly at restaurant tables, and place and pay for orders ahead of time to skip lines.
Various payment methods, such as debit and credit cards can be stored within the app, and accessed any time. PayPal’s “Bill Me Later” functionality is included, allowing customers to access a line of credit from within the app. Merchants who are PayPal partners can offer coupons and discounts via the app, and a transfer function allows you to quickly transfer money to friends and family.
The redesign of the app is a part of PayPal’s push to increase awareness among consumers about PayPal’s availability in physical retail locations, as well as online.
The new PayPal iOS app will be available FREE in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
