Wondering what’s new or different in the iOS 7 Beta 4 update Apple released to developers yesterday? It appears to be the most substantial update so far – and includes dozens of welcome changes!
iDownloadBlog has kept an exhaustively complete list of all the new things they’ve seen or heard about, as follows (list is partial – to view the whole list, head over to the original post at iDB):
As we continue to dig through the new information in iOS 7 beta 4, we’ll be listing any major changes we find below:
- Lock screen UI tweaked, no longer has confusing up arrow
- Call button in phone app, Answer/Decline buttons refreshed
- Animations are noticeably faster
- You can now swipe between Today-All-Missed views in Notification Center
- Improved navigation in Settings app
- New “Improve Maps” opt-in program in Privacy section of Settings
- Tweaked Maps.app icons
- Saved Passwords for Safari now ask you want to setup an on-device password
- Pin in Maps app now shows estimated driving time to location
- You can now swipe down in Siri to see previous activity, even after exiting and reopening
In addition, further changes, complete with screenshots and more detailed explanations, can be found over at MacRumors and 9to5Mac. I especially appreciate the ability to swipe down in Siri to see prior activity, and the faster, smoother animations make the whole experience much more pleasurable and complete-feeling overall.
Let us know what you think of the update (if you’re a developer, and happen to be using it) by sounding off in the comments!
Update: Redmond Pie has produced a great video walking you through what’s new in iOS 7 beta 4 as well – check it out!
