Web-based productivity tool IFTTT (“If This Then That”) has released an iOS app that allows you to access the utility of its Internet connected actions and triggers with the convenience of your iPhone.
For those who are unaware, IFTTT is a Web tool that lets users trigger automated online actions from a number of websites and services, all using the simple statement, “if this then that.”
The service uses “recipes” that contain triggers and actions. This allows it to collect or move data across the Internet. For example, a recipe would send an email from Gmail (an action) at a certain time (a trigger), the ingredients would be the email subject, email body, and the recipients. The site can be used with many popular services including Facebook, email, and LinkedIn.
The iOS version, currently only available for the iPhone, also allows exclusive photo, contact and reminder actions. These can be used to create recipes to do things like auto-send photos to Dropbox.
The app also allows for background syncing of recipes created on the Web client.
IFTTT is available FREE for the iPhone in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
