Apple on Monday released new firmware for its AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 wireless earbuds. The new firmware is version 7E93, up from the 7B21 firmware that was installed on the AirPods Pro 2 and the 7B20 firmware available on the AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC.
Apple doesn’t say what fixes or features the new firmware brings.
While Apple doesn’t offer a way to manually upgrade AirPods firmware, it is generally installed over-the-air when the AirPods are in a charging case and connected via Bluetooth to an iOS device or Mac.
If you place the AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods 4 in their case, connect them to a power source, and then pair them to an iPhone or iPad, they should update after a short period of time.
