Apple industry analyst Jeff Pu says Apple is about to enter the prototyping phase with its first two foldable devices, with mass production scheduled for 2026. Pu claims the foldables recently entered the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase at Foxconn.
Pu’s comments came in a weekend research note with GF Securities.
The analyst believes the foldable devices will enter an early prototyping stage this April.
Unfortunately, Pu did not provide any additional details about the two foldable devices. However, it appears he is referring to Apple’s much-rumored first foldable iPhone, which is expected to boast an 8-inch inner display, along with a rumored foldable iPad, which is expected to have a screen as large as 19-inches.
In additional comments, Pu said he expects 2025 iPhone shipments to be “lukewarm,” due in part to Apple delaying personalized Siri features until the coming year. Pu also believes foldable devices will provide a boost to Foxconn’s 2026 business.
