Bloomberg’s Gurman: New M5 iPad Pro and MacBook Pro Models to Hit Shelves Later This Year

Bloomberg’s Gurman: New M5 iPad Pro and MacBook Pro Models to Hit Shelves Later This Year

Apple will launch the M5-powered generation of its iPad Pro lineup “this year,” according to Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

Gurman‘s comments came in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter on Sunday.  Gurman said the new iPad Pro models have progressed to an “advanced testing” stage, meaning mass production of the devices could begin as soon as the second half of this year. If everything remains on schedule, the new iPad Pro models could hit shelves  around October, which is when new 2018 and 2022 iPad Pro models debuted.

Apple last released new iPad Pro models in May 2024. That year, the iPad Pro received its first-ever OLED display, as well as a thinner and lighter design. They were powered by an M4 chip, offered support for the new Apple Pencil Pro, and more.

Gurman says he expects Apple to debut new M5-powered MacBook Pro models later this year, but no other major changes are expected.
