Apple TV’s popular science fiction series “Severance” may be the most popular series ever on the streaming service, that doesn’t mean Apple is taking a break from promoting the series.
Apple is promoting the Ben Stiller-produced series by featuring a new “Lumon Terminal Pro” on its Mac website.
The Lumon Terminal Pro appears to be from the same computer lineup as the machines that Severance employees like Mark S. and Helly R. use to fulfill their macrodata refinement responsibilities. The Terminal boasts a blue keyboard, a small display with wide bezels, and a trackball for navigation purposes. The computer walks a fine line between futuristic and retro.
While you cannot actually purchase a Lumon Terminal Pro (I’d be among the first in line to buy one, just to try out the bucket “game”), the joke is an entertaining way to promote the popular series. The page does have a link to a behind the scenes editing video that Apple shared on Wednesday.
Apple has renewed Severance for a third season, as series executive producer and director Ben Stiller recently confirmed that scripts for the third season are being written.
Stiller said he is hoping to avoid the nearly three-year delay between seasons that occurred between the first and second seasons.
